Physical products are just tangible items that are used in everyday life. The options for physical products are endless. It could be a vacuum, a coffee mug, shoes, an electronic device, furniture, etc. A lot of business models like ecommerce, MLM, and dropshipping primarily focus on selling physical products.
Digital products are intangible products. These are typically informational products or training courses. Some examples of digital products can be a weight loss program, an online marketing course, or a training course on how to improve your golf swing. One of the most common business models for selling digital products is affiliate marketing.
So which type of product is better??
Although you can make a lot of money selling either type of product if you set your business up the right way, I firmly believe that digital products are the far better option. The primary reason for this is the commission and profit margins!
You can make much higher commissions and profit margins on digital products than you can on physical products. With digital products you can make anywhere from 50% up to 90% commission depending on the product you are selling. Compare that to about 10-30% commission that you can make with physical products. Also, digital products have a much higher price point per product so you make much more money per sale. With physical products, you have to sell thousands in order to make good money because the cost per product is not very high.
I don’t know about you, but I would much rather sell a product with a higher price point AND much higher commissions! I highly suggest you look for a good quality digital product to sell, and I promise you won’t be disappointed!
